About Alvaro Berroteran

The pages of this site are dedicated to the Nicaraguan painter, Alvaro Berroteran, whose artistic work started at a young age. During the 1980s, he participated in painting and drawing classes taught by the Cuban professor, Lorenzo Veloz through the Popular Cultural Center “Fernando Gordillo” in his native Granada, Nicaragua. At the end of the 80s, Berroteran enrolled in the School of Fine Arts, also in Granada, directed by the well-known painter, Pedro Vargas, where he graduated in fine arts. In the 90s, he specialized in “Graphic Arts” through the graphic arts workshops held at the International “House of Three Worlds” focusing in the techniques of etching in wood, metal, rock and silk screening with the assistance of national and international artists. At the same time, Berroteran participated in training courses for the teaching of art to children offered by the Association of Cultural Promoters of Nicaragua, an organization of which he is a member.
